Short Term Accommodation & Respite Care

Respite is not a holiday — it’s a lifeline and a chance to rebalance. It’s time out that serves a purpose: to restore energy, provide emotional safety, and offer real support for people who give or receive care every day. At I’m Able Support Network, our Short-Term Accommodation and Respite services are designed to bring structure, relief, and meaningful connection — not just a change of scenery. Whether it’s for a weekend or a few weeks, we help create space to pause, reset, and return with clarity and strength.

What's included?

The NDIS defines Short Term Accommodation (STA), including respite, as funding for support and accommodation for a short time away from your usual home. It covers the cost for your;

  • accommodation,

  • food,

  • activities,

  • support workers

Who It's For?

  • People needing a break from their current routine

  • Carers seeking time to rest or manage other responsibilities

  • Participants trialling independent living in a supported setting

  • Anyone needing short-term housing due to crisis or transition

*You must have funding for respite/STA in your NDIS plan to be eligible.

For participants, respite is a chance to feel safe, heard, and supported while exploring new environments or simply taking a break from daily stress.

For carers, it’s peace of mind knowing that your loved one is in capable hands — with a team that’s organised, comprehensive, and creative.

Each stay is thoughtfully designed to match the individual’s preferences, needs, and sensory profile. We offer options for:

  • Quiet retreats and solo stays

  • Group respite with peers for social connection

  • Activity-based stays aligned with participant interests

  • In-home or offsite settings depending on needs

Whether someone needs time to reset emotionally, try something new, or simply enjoy a change of pace, our goal is to provide comfort and care — not just supervision.

If you or an NDIS participant you support requires preplanned or emergency respite, get in touch below.
